, you can also locate a new set of digital gauges. Other upgrades may include a head-up display, an improved wireless phone charging pad and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto wireless connectivity.

How much power will the Explorer 2024 have?

Official statistics for 2024 have not been released, but typically when vehicles receive a mid-cycle update, the engines carry over. But the Explorer could reportedly get the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine for the Ford Mustang with 310hp and 350Nm of torque.

It’s safe to expect the new Explorer to have the same options, but they could be updated for more power and better fuel economy.

The standard 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine puts out 300bhp and 310Nm of torque, which is a hefty amount of power. You can upgrade to the 3.0-litre V6 engine for 400PS and 415Nm of torque.

Additionally, the 3.3-litre V6 hybrid configuration includes an electric motor to generate 318PS and 320Nm of torque. It gets an EPA-estimated 27 mpg in the city and up to 29 mpg on the highway.

Gas-powered models get an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city and up to 27 mpg on the highway. So, let’s hope the hybrid option gets an economic boost.

Other markets have a plug-in hybrid Ford Explorer model, but it may not make it to America. The Explorer PHEV may be skipped because Ford is planning the electric model. But the PHEV would provide a good transition between gas and electric power.

It’s good that the Explorer 2024 is already being tested. That means we should know more soon. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
