What can we expect from the 2024 Ford F-150?
The Ford F-150 Lightning is undoubtedly one of the most popular trucks on the market right now. It’s very hot, the company is completely sold out. It makes perfect sense that people would want their gas-powered truck to have some EV styling cues, too. reports that the F-150 will get Lightning-inspired upgrades and updates for 2024, inside and out.
. However, Ford is following an update schedule which means the next update should come in late 2024 for 2025 models. Not much is known about the new F-150 Lightning truck yet. It will separate further from the current combustion engine version of the truck, with which it shares many parts.
Reports indicate that the new F-150 Lighting will get the new TE1 platform, which could also support some full-size electric SUVs. The TE1 platform should offer more range and battery options. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the redesign yet, as by 2025 it will face competition from new EV trucks from (most likely) Tesla, Chevy, GMC, and Rivian, so it will need upgrades to compete. Toyota could also join the fray, and other startups like Canoo and Lordstown are also expected to bring new EV trucks to market in the next couple of years as well.
How much does a 2024 F-150 Lightning cost?
Ford hasn’t released any details about the 2024 f-150 Lightning yet. However, the company did significantly better in the 2023 model than in 2022. The first-year 2022 Ford F-150 Lightnings could theoretically be ordered as a $40,000 work truck. The base 2023 Edition now costs $56,000.
2024 will likely come, with updates, with a slight price increase to match.
Is the F-150 Lightning available?
The Ford F-150 is rare at the moment. Ford said it sold 15,000 F-150 Lightnings in 2022, which is all it can produce. Even though Ford said it’s ramping up production on the truck, it’s still hard to come by. Many of the fleet companies that placed orders early were snapped up, and others went to early bookers.
Reservations are open now for the Ford F-150 Lightnings, but there’s no set timeline for when the 2023 car will be delivered. Ford, like others, is facing. But, fear not, some dealers have stock. They’re also starting to show up on auto auction sites, but at a huge premium.
