There is a simple equation for figuring out a vehicle’s towing capacity. All you have to do is find the vehicle’s Gross Combined Vehicle Weight (GCVWR) and subtract the vehicle’s curb weight from that number. You can find your vehicle’s curb weight on the VIN sticker, which is usually found on the inside of the driver’s door. You may need to look up the GCVWR online. Don’t forget to add the weight of the fuel and the weight of any passengers.
