The 2023 Chevy Equinox Needs to Fix 1 Significant Issue

There are many great things to say about the equinox. For example, it has a smooth ride with responsive handling and intuitive technology. However, there is one that may prevent the peloton from leading the pack.

Is the 2023 Chevy Equinox fun to drive?

While the 2023 offers a smooth ride and good cornering, it’s a bit lacking in the engine department. It is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 175PS and 203Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Said the engine is not very refined. It can be quite noisy at highway speeds and can cause the steering wheel to vibrate at higher speeds. Even the automatic start and stop system is a bit sketchy. It can make the SUV jump forward suddenly.

There is a button to turn the system off using the climate controls, but the auto start and stop feature automatically reactivates every time you restart the vehicle.

The 2023 Equinox gets an EPA-estimated 26 mpg in the city and up to 28 mpg on the highway, which is behind the competition. Additionally, rivals such as the Toyota RAV4 and Hyundai Tucson have hybrid and PHEV powertrains at their disposal. So, the equinox is a little behind.

Does the 2023 equinox have a nice interior?

Yes, the 2023 has an exclusive interior with high quality materials and a lot of value. The premium leather upholstery is lovable, with an attractive two-tone design and eye-catching stitching.

The standard model comes with LED headlights, automatic high beams, keyless entry, push button start, satellite radio, heated exterior mirrors and 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

Upgrading to higher trims gives you access to a hands-free power liftgate, wireless phone charging pad, ambient interior lighting, remote engine start, front/rear parking sensors, heated/ventilated seats, heated steering wheel and roof rails.

The seas in the front and rear are large and spacious. They are well padded to keep the whole family comfortable for hours. The passenger cabin is one area where the Equinox really shines. In addition, there are plenty of cup holders available.

How much is the 2023 equinox?

Pricing starts at $26,600, while the top-of-the-line Equinox Premier trim bumps the cost up to $31,800. These prices are the MSRPs, so they don’t include the $1,395 destination tax or dealership markups.

Hence, the Equinox is an attractive family option that is affordable. However, it may look or feel a little dated due to powertrain issues.

It has modern technology, such as an 8.0-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rear seat reminder, a surround view camera system, and automatic parking.

The Equinox is a good deal with plenty of comfort and space. It’s just a little slow and raw compared to its sportier, more fuel-efficient rivals.
