AT4X is not lacking in power. It has a 6.2-liter V8 engine that makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from o to 60 mph in about 6.2 seconds. The 10-speed automatic transmission is very smooth.

At times the suspension is a little stiff, but the bigger impacts are settled without much fuss. There’s little body roll around sharp curves at higher speeds, and the brakes are confident. Handling could be more responsive, but the Sierra AT4X is nimble.

It has a turning radius of 23.65 inches, so it’s not the easiest to park. But the surround view camera and parking sensors make it easier to navigate tight spots.

You might expect the Sierra to be louder because of the massive suspension and tires, but only a little wind noise enters the cabin at higher speeds. The front and rear seats are also spacious, well-padded, and supportive.

The climate control is powerful and effective, but the heated seats take a few minutes to really kick in. Access is easy thanks to the optional rocker panels and the bed’s integrated corner steps.

Off-road driving in the Sierra AT4X is amazing with its 11.2 inches of ground clearance for clearing obstacles. Terrain mode and off-road driving modes provide precise control and improved traction in slippery conditions.

The ride is smooth over gravel and rough patches of rock. The truck feels in control in slippery conditions with thick mud, sleet and snow. It even steers clear of water with confidence as the tires provide contact with track conditions.

The GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X is perfect for work and play. It is comfortable on the road and in the wilderness. We can see ourselves happily traversing the woods or strolling through the pastures to check on the cows. It is well equipped to avoid tripping while providing excellent comfort.

So yes, the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X is worth buying. It’s a luxury traveler that isn’t afraid to go to work.
