The Subaru Ascent is one of the most popular mid-size SUVs today. It offers excellent performance, plenty of interior space and comes standard with all-wheel drive.

, “The company says an electrical ground bolt connected to the cabin heater may have been improperly secured. This problem can cause the ground terminal and surrounding parts to melt and increase the risk of fire when the vehicle’s PTC heater is on. The PTC heater is part of a backup heating system that runs until the engine has warmed up enough to warm the cabin.

The good news? Only a small percentage of 2019 to 2022 Subaru Ascent SUVs are expected to have this problem. And there have been no reported accidents or injuries caused by this issue.
