Meta Introduces New Way To Schedule Facebook Reels

Meta introduces a new way to schedule Facebook Reels with a new feature built into Meta Creator Studio.

Anyone with a Facebook page can access it, Creator Studio makes it possible to schedule reels in three simple steps.

This is by far the easiest option for scheduling reels content in advance.

It’s not quite as convenient as scheduling Reels in the Facebook mobile app, since it requires a desktop browser, but it should meet the needs of most creators.

Here’s how to schedule reels on Facebook using Creator Studio.

How to schedule reels on Facebook

First Step: Upload the video

The first step to scheduling Facebook Reels is to log into Creator Studio.

If you haven’t used Creator Studio, you can log in with the same credentials as your Facebook page. There are no additional registration steps required.

Next, click Create Video, which prompts you to upload a video.

The button naming is deceptive because you are not creating the content within Creator Studio. You need to make a video ahead of time and put it on your desktop computer.

Ideally, you should upload a file vertical video up to 60 seconds. However, you can select any video size and optimize it in the next step.

Step Two: Optimize the Video

After you upload your video, you can optimize it for Facebook Reels in Creator Studio.

If your video is already in vertical aspect ratio and is 60 seconds or less, you can skip this step.

You can reframe horizontal videos to either portrait or square mode. Creator Studio will display a preview on the side of the screen so you can see what your new video will look like.

When you are satisfied with how your video in Reels format looks, you can proceed to the next step.

Step Three: Schedule the video as Facebook Reel

Finally, add a comment to the video and schedule it to post. You will also have the option to publish it immediately.

Alternatively, if you change your mind about publishing, you can save the file as a draft during this step.

You can track the performance of all published reels within Creator Studio.

What about Instagram Reels?

Instagram Reels are a major focus area for Meta, and there has been evidence recently that native scheduling capabilities are in the works.

App researcher Alessandro Paluzzi documents the evolution of Instagram’s native scheduling features. He shares his findings in an ongoing Twitter thread.

Paluzzi’s latest addition to the thread shows that Instagram is working on a way to schedule both supports And reels within the app.

It is not known when this feature will be available. Although I would expect it to be sooner rather than later, considering how strong Meta has been driving Reels on Instagram and Facebook.
