Jay Leno’s Vintage Motorcycle Crash Broke Multiple Bones, Not Funny Bone

Comedian and famous classic car sponsor, he faces a difficult trial. Last November, he was working on a gas line in an old car when the fuel caught fire and he was burned on one side of his face and ear. We were thankful to hear that he made a full recovery. But then, on January 17, he was riding in a 1940 car and ran headlong into an unmarked cable blocking a parking lot and broke multiple bones.

How did Jay Leno burn?

In November of 2022, Jay Leno was working on his design. White’s engine can run at 700 degrees. And when Lino was working on the car’s fuel lines, the hot engine ignited the gasoline.

He was working on a 1940’s Indian motorcycle and decided to take it out for a test drive. During the flight, he thought he smelled gas. It is understood that Lino warned of a fuel leak today, so he immediately stopped to check it out.

“So I turned onto a side street and pulled into a parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, somebody had a wire hanging across the parking lot but no flag hanging from it… So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. It’s just a lining of clothes. And, boom, he kicked me off my bike…the bike kept going, and you know how that works.”

In this case, it certainly didn’t work out too well. Leno reported, “So I have a broken collarbone. I have two broken ribs. I have cracked knees.”

But things could have been much worse. After his motorcycle accident, Leno considered a small motorcycle crash: “You know, after you burn out, you get one for free,” Leno said. “Then, you’re Harrison Ford, crashing planes. You just want to keep your head down (laughs).”

Leno kept his head down. In fact he didn’t say anything about his second incident to the media for over a week.

Is Jay Leno okay?

Jay Leno crashes his motorcycle, breaking his collarbone and ribs. But within ten days, he was photographed driving around Los Angeles. He even told reports, “I’m fine… I’m working this weekend.”

Given Jay Leno’s misfortune, we’re glad to hear he’s at least driving. Hopefully his collar bone rested easily, and his ribs and knees healed quickly.

The only thing the accident couldn’t break was Jay’s funny bone. When reporters asked about the details of the accident, he joked, “I was riding my motorcycle in Lake Tahoe. I came around the corner and hit a snow plow.”

Leno, of course, was referring to the horrific meltdown that actor Jeremy Renner survived on New Year’s Day. We hope Renner gets some of Jay’s luck and gets out of the hospital soon.

If we’re being serious for a minute, Jay Leno is far from the first biker to hit an unmarked cable. Landowners obviously have rights to access their property, but some high visibility flags can save lives.

Next, look at the real reason or read about the time it was.
