Part of the appeal of the Ioniq 5 is its convenience and affordability. What about reliability? How does the reliability of the Ioniq 5 compare to other popular ones in its segment?

Recalls are part of the game in the automotive industry, even for the most reliable number plates. That said, some recent EV recalls have been alarming.

Reliability is incredibly important to consumers. Because many drivers purchase a new vehicle with the intention of owning it for years, the reliability and cost of ownership of a vehicle are extremely important. So, it’s not fair to say that the Ioniq 5 is still reliable, but so far it has far fewer problems than many of its rivals.

It’s one of the most reliable EVs on the market, but that doesn’t mean the EV couldn’t have a future battery problem that would challenge its reliability. So, should you get an Ioniq 5 over less reliable small electric SUVs? Safe. Is it infallible? Obviously not.
