Is the Ford F-150 Lighting Actually Worth the Hype?

As electric, the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning has built hype around it. It’s one of the first EV trucks from a major manufacturer, and in many ways, one of the most practical trucks currently in production. It was so popular, in fact, that the Blue Oval struggled to keep up with demand.

If you are interested in electric van from , you may have noticed that it is very difficult to actually buy one. Due to high demand, you can’t do that anymore. Simply put, there is a lot of hype around this electric vehicle. And even if you think there is no point in electric trucks, that fact is hard to deny.

Follows a tried and true formula. Ford has been a successful truck manufacturer for quite some time, and the F-Series pickup is usually one of the best-selling vehicles in the United States. If you look at the Lightning, it might be electric, but it looks like a regular F-150 truck.

Accordingly, the F-150 Lightning has a maximum range of 320 miles. But the standard range is only 230 miles. If you do towing, you can probably expect a decrease in the distance you can drive. And that’s just something that comes with the region.

One of the coolest things about this electric truck might be its ability to convert into a mobile generator. If your home is set up for this feature and the power goes out, you can get power from your Ford Truck. This isn’t the only electric car that can do this, but it’s still great to see it in action.

When can you buy a Ford F-150 Lightning?

As it is, you can’t just order from Ford. The best route might be to contact your local dealership to see if there are any options available. This electric car has been featured on some popular auto auction sites, but don’t expect to pay the sticker price.

Given its limited supply and popularity, the Ford Lightning is an easy product to add profit margins to. This means that if you wanted one and didn’t place an order with Ford, you would likely pay more than the MSRP. For some people, that might be worth it, but it might be a good idea to wait until the Lightning Truck becomes more widely available.

Needless to say, I will be keeping a close eye on the availability of this electric truck. Especially as competitors like the Ram 1500 REV enter the market.
