Is It Actually Legal To Install Jump Seats in the Bed of Your Truck?

It always surprises me when I travel to a country where many taxis are transported with long seats attached to the bed. I first saw this in the Caribbean and have since realized that it is common in most of Southeast Asia. But the truth is, you can in most parts of the United States, too, especially if you install seats with a federally approved restraint system, AKA seat belts. You’ll want to check your state and local laws, but here’s an overview.
