Here’s Where Ram’s Truck Engines Are Built (And Which Ones Hail From Mexico)

There may be nothing more “American” than a pickup. But the truth is, most of the engines for Ram minivans are made in Mexico. Only some Pentastar V6s are still built in the United States

Where was the Ram Hemi V8 built?

Every 2023 Hemi V8 will be built in. Chrysler Corporation began operations in Saltillo in 1950, and its Saltillo engine plant has built reliable 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter Hellcat V8s throughout their existence.

). It reported that all half-ton Rams, whether the 1500 or the Classic, contained 63% of the ingredients from the United States or Canada. The most American-made is the Ram 1500 Classic because its engine comes from the United States, though the transmission is not.

Every Ram pickup truck was assembled with a VIN starting at 1.4 or 5 in the US but if the VIN started at 2, that vehicle was assembled in Canada. If the VIN begins with the number 3, that vehicle was assembled in Mexico.

Where are Ram truck engines made?

The majority of the engines available in Ram pickups come from Saltillo, Mexico, with a few notable exceptions: the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel I6.
