24-Year-Old Wins Lamborghini Huracan From $1.20 Raffle Ticket, Crashes Weeks Later Blaming ‘Some Cow’

How many times have you ever dreamed of winning a lottery or lottery, and your life changed overnight? Well, for a young British gentleman, that’s exactly what happened when he won a race. Only, the joy did not last long. The 24-year-old Briton won a lottery, only to crash a few weeks later.

Do people actually win car gifts?

While we cannot guarantee the legality of any online car sweepstakes, some of these contests are certainly legitimate. After paying 0.9p ($1.20) for a lottery ticket to win a black Lamborghini Huracan, the young man’s ticket was picked, and he got the keys to his supercar just last month.

, Huracan came from drawing on tap competitions. The grand prize awarded him either a Lamborghini or £100,000 ($119,000) in cash. Like any self-respecting young man, Grant Burnett – the winner of the competition – got the supercar.

Wherever fortune goes, drama often follows.

The young Lamborghini owner hasn’t enjoyed his car for long. In late February, a few weeks after he got the car, Burnett took to Facebook saying his black supercar had some damage. He quickly denounced rumors that he was responsible for the accident. Burnett said “some cow” hit him from behind, forcing him to “spin out”. Soon after, photos emerged showing some extensive damage.

The front end definitely got a good pop. The hood is creased, and the front quarter panel is torn. The front bumper was done, the front splitter was completely torn off. The damage is ugly and extensive. Burnett fired back at Facebook users claiming he was responsible for a barrage of vitriolic language.

“F**k a lot of you sharing a picture of a lambo and trying to say it was my fault for doing 150mph haha,” he wrote. “The car would have collapsed if it had hit the barrier so fast, if you wanted to say something feel free to message me! I was not at fault for the accident because some cows hit the back of the car which knocked me out.”

In the age of other computer-powered driver aids, many drivers have lost the knowledge of this. Most drivers have no idea what it’s like to keep four small pieces of rubber gripped with hundreds of horsepower. Many cars currently have 200-300 hp. This was an earth shattering force just a few decades ago. In the case of the Lamborghini Huracan, Burnett was running at 630 hp. Even with computer aid, that’s a serious pile of horses.

We don’t comment on what happened with this particular crash, but it’s very easy to lose control if you have little experience with that much power. This fact is why so many new or supercar owners end up in ditches or otherwise ripped apart.

People treat supercars with a strange, no-nonsense lightness. Most people don’t assume they can fly a plane, ride an ox, skateboard, or rock climb. Understanding that those extreme activities require skill and training, why do so many drivers assume they can drive race cars?

Whatever happened to the Lamborghini, it’s a shame Burnett didn’t enjoy his car longer.
