Is Ford Maverick Production Delayed?
In terms of production, Maverick is definitely behind. Simply put, Blue Oval can’t keep up with the demand for its pickup truck. Even when orders were opened, it looked like they were closed almost immediately. These sales may be good news for Ford, but they can also be disappointing for us consumers.
Blue Oval hopes to increase production by more than 80,000 units. Hopefully, that means more people can get their hands on this pickup truck.
Maverick has serious wait times
The waiting time is between five and eight months. Even if you really want this pickup truck, that’s a big ask between slashing the cash and actually getting one. With high demand combined with supply chain issues, Blue Oval is definitely struggling with production. And the Maverick isn’t the only Ford product to suffer harsh wait times.
However, Ford’s pickup truck has earned a great deal of praise. Not only is it affordable (at least when compared to other trucks) but it has a legitimate utility. The Maverick might be ideal if you’re looking for a new pickup but don’t like the large size that something like a full-size model has become.
Will there be a 2024 Ford Maverick?
Undoubtedly, there will be 2024 Maverick. With the popularity of this pickup truck, it would be nuts if Blue Oval canceled it. However, we don’t really know what the future holds for the new maverick.
There are rumors circulating that Ford has plans to introduce a hybrid Maverick. People will give the benefits of a gasoline engine with some electric range. Ford already offers several PHEV models, so giving this pickup truck the same treatment makes sense.
The Maverick hybrid is one of the most popular variants of this vehicle. Although you can’t get it with AWD, that didn’t seem to stop people from getting a more efficient pickup. Another change for the 2024 model year may be the availability of AWD for all Maverick models. This way, consumers don’t have to have an EcoBoost engine in order to get this feature.
In terms of the Maverick segment, the only real competitor is the Hyundai Santa Cruz. So whatever Ford plans, it will probably make this car more competitive than it already is.
