Even the Best-Ranked 2023 GMC SUV Didn’t Fare Too Well

The only new vehicles you can buy with the nameplate are trucks and SUVs. In the latter category, there is the compact Terrain and the average Arcadia. And it’s a three-row full-size SUV with a cavernous interior and potent engine choices. The Yukon generally attracts more critical acclaim than its siblings. However, it also competes in a crowded segment. Where do the 2023 GMC SUVs fail and are they still worth buying?

Although the 2023 GMC Yukon is the highest-rated GMC vehicle on US News, it still lags behind most of its rivals. The Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban, along with the Ford Expedition, all received higher overall scores. US News named the Jeep Wagoneer the best large SUV for 2023, beating out the others by a considerable margin.

Since this little crossover doesn’t have a third row, reviewers don’t have many complaints about the seating arrangements. However, it earns praise for its braking performance and handling. Its suspension isn’t as smooth as the Yukon’s, but it’s far from the worst setup. With a few tweaks, the Acadia and Terrain could match their big brother’s caliber.
