Aston Martin Plans a Completely Electrified Lineup by 2030

Aston Martin has been in the news a lot lately, starting with the announcement of the Ultimate a few weeks ago. Now, a recent call regarding Aston’s 2022 financial report has revealed new information about what’s coming next. With plans to go all-electric by 2030 and a new slate of electric and plug-in hybrid cars soon, the next generation is set to debut later this year.

There are no new details about Valhalla

Unfortunately, the brand hasn’t claimed any more details about its upcoming plug-in hybrid. What we know so far is that Mercedes-AMG will offer a twin-turbo V8 engine that will combine with Aston’s electric powertrain for a total of 937 horsepower. Valhalla will also have a pure EV mode, though only the battery range is still under wraps.

Overhaul for Aston Martin models

One thing that was clear about Aston Martin’s future plans was to revamp its entire lineup. This means that we are likely to see updated versions of the brand’s existing vehicles. Currently, this includes the DB11, DBS, Vantage and. Unfortunately, the British team has already indicated that the DBS 770 Ultimate will be their last V12. This means we can expect major powertrain updates on the horizon.

110th Anniversary Edition model

Like many other models discussed on a recent investor call, Aston Martin has been silent on details regarding the 110th Anniversary Edition model. It has confirmed that something was in the works, but no further details have been revealed yet.

Given the history of the brand, it’s not farfetched to think that a new supercar is coming. However, the suspended production of Valhalla could make that a redundant practice. Given its financial woes, the Anniversary Edition could be a boon for the brand, especially if it will feature hybrid or EV technology.

Another idea can be borrowed from the Hyundai N-Vision 74 and Porsche Vision 357 and choose a modern version of one of the brand’s classic models. Getting a modern version of the iconic DB 5 will be exciting, even if buying one is a far-fetched fantasy.

Aston Martin will be fully electrified by 2030, and an electric car will be introduced in 2025

While the British luxury brand has remained quiet on the details, it does suggest that a full electric car will arrive in 2025. Given the brand’s all-encompassing introduction to plug-in hybrids, we’d expect the first Aston Martin EV to be a high-end supercar.

The goal of being fully electrified by 2030 does not only mean electric vehicles. The specific phrase ‘electrified lineup’ probably means a mix of hybrids and electric vehicles, so the fire-breathing Astons aren’t going away anytime soon. This should be encouraging for those who appreciate the old-school nature of the British brand. And their Formula 1 connections should mean that any future hybrid models pack massive power.
