How many miles will a Ford Maverick last?
We can determine that the Ford Maverick can go over 100,000 miles. We shared a 2022 Ford Maverick that comes with 112,334 miles on the odometer. It’s available at Roselle Motors in Lake St. Roselle, Illinois.
The model was first sold on Oct 25th, 2021 so the miles were down to about 270 per day until it traded as recently as Dec 9th. CarFax backs up those numbers, but we don’t know who was driving them so often or why.
The 2022 Maverick is an EcoBoost-equipped XLT model with the FX4 package. It’s not a hybrid, and it’s equipped with all-wheel drive.
The Maverick is expected to average more than 200,000 miles, and one is officially halfway there. It has an above average reliability rating.
The score is based on similar compounds in the lineup. Unfortunately, the Maverick needs to gain more miles to get an officially trusted rating. But at least we’re getting closer to that with more drivers behind the wheel every day.
What are the defector’s biggest problems?
One of the biggest problems involves electrical problems. One driver left his maverick car for three days, and the battery was dead by the time he returned. Some features were turned off to conserve energy, so he had to break into his truck to get the key from the glovebox.
After replacing the battery, he immediately received another low voltage warning on the dashboard. Other drivers had similar problems until the service bulletin stated that the battery connected to the engine was at risk of failure.
Also, the wiring harness made life frustrating for some Maverick owners in 2022. Loose connections kill the battery and make jumping impossible. Suddenly there is no power to the plates at all, like the battery is disconnected.
While there has been a recall to address issues with the trailer brakes, the regular brakes are still having trouble. There are reports of complete brake failure, slow brake response, and strange knocking noises occurring at times.
The brakes feel inconsistent and jerky as if they were without pressure. And the regenerative braking system makes it too weak to stop.
Is buying a used Maverick a good idea?
It might be a good idea to buy a used car in the future, but for now, inventory is limited. The 2023 model is completely sold out, and the models in the dealership have huge brands.
For example, a 2022 Ford Maverick with 112,334 current miles is available for $29,945. You can get a new truck for that amount. Maybe you can get a new 2024 form when the application banks open.
You can pay more for a used Ford Maverick if you don’t want to wait. However, you can probably find options without 100,000 miles on the odometer!
At least we know a maverick can keep going 100,000 miles, as expected. We can’t wait to see how it performs as it approaches 200,000 miles.
