they’re on the rise, but consumers are still out there. The MSRP can give you an idea of how much you should spend, but don’t count on it being the dealership’s price. Many vehicles like the Escalade are priced well above the MSRP and there may be better options for you.
Don’t count on the MSRP
recently published an article detailing how many consumers pay far more for their vehicles than they are actually worth. This has a lot to do with the question in many cases. The vehicles have become so popular that the dealerships are, and people continue to pay for them.
. However, the price is $81,190 – $151,090. It’s slightly higher for the lower trim levels, especially if you’re opting for 4WD.
The specs are impressive, however. The lower trims feature a 6.2 liter V8 engine producing 420 hp and 460 lb/ft of torque. There is also a supercharged 6.2L DI V8 engine available on higher trim levels. This is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Gas mileage is nothing to brag about. Only gets 14 city and 18 hwy mpg. There’s a maximum towing capacity of 8,000 pounds and a maximum payload capacity of 1,647 pounds.
The Escalade seats up to seven passengers and there’s a decent amount of cargo space. Gets 25.5 cubic feet. with seats up and 121.0 cubic feet. with the seats down.
Should You Skip the Cadillac Escalade?
Unless you’re determined to drive a Cadillac home, there are plenty of other worthy vehicles that would make a better choice than the 2023 Escalade. These include the Lincoln Navigator, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and GMC Yukon.
it’s slightly cheaper than the Cadillac Escalade, with a starting price of $77,635. Exceeds $109,120. The Navigator features a 3.5-liter V6 engine that generates 440hp and 510Nm of torque.
The Jeep Grand Wagoneer has a 5.7L V8 engine that generates 392hp and 404Nm of torque. Even better is the fact that it’s a hybrid.
Maximum towing capacity is 10,000 lbs and maximum payload is 1,510 lbs. There’s plenty of room, as there is 27.4 cubic feet. with seats up and 116.7 cubic feet with seats down. The MSRP starting is $58,995.
The 2023 GMC Yukon has an MSRP of $59,295. It features a one cylinder V8 that produces 355hp and 383Nm of torque. Maximum towing capacity is 8,400 pounds and maximum payload is 1,792 pounds.
The Escalade is by no means a bad vehicle. But considering what Cadillac is offering for the price hike, consumers would be much better off spending their money on a more affordable vehicle.
