All the Truck I Need: The 2023 Ford Tremor

We all play that little game in our heads, you know the game; If I win the lottery, which truck will I buy? The picks for 2023 are pretty amazing, and after writing about several trucks, I decided there was one that stood out. Sure, there are super-fast TRXs, cool Rivians, off-road Raptors, and even funky Honda Ridgelines to choose from. So why did I decide which truck to buy?

Why would I choose the Ford F-150 Tremor?

I thought about how I would use the truck, and what I would want a truck for. First of all, the truck is my daily driver on grocery runs, but it also plays weekend tricks, but I also use it to tow or tow motorcycles.

Hyundai Santa Cruz and Ford Maverick make great case. But for off-road camping, they just don’t cut it. TRD fans will probably be warming their fingers for the comments section as I write this, but the Toyota seats just don’t cut it for my 5’6 frame.

What is the F-150 Tremor Package?

Tremor takes what is essentially a Ford F-150 FX4 package but then pairs it with some Tremor-specific trimmings. That means the Tremor comes with the mighty 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 (not for me), electronic 4×4 drivetrain, skid plates, and tow hooks front and rear (thank you, Ford).

Tremor also has optional towing packages, which help when backing up. Tremor monotube shocks are not designed to blast over desert trails like the Raptor but instead to provide good low-speed damping. Also, the black 18-inch wheels with Grabbers also look good, as does the orange stripe.

But I will personalize it

Since I’m pretending to win the lottery, why not, right? The Ford accessory catalog contains a lot of Tremor-specific items. But I’ll add Ford BlueCruise 1.0 with Active Park Assist because hands-free driving feels nice.

For off-road driving, I like to add a $500 Torsen front axle to maximize grip. I also like the addition of Pro Power Onboard for running game in the wild and Pro Trailer Backup Assist. I’d skip the leather seats, but heated seats would be nice, as would the interior work surface.

When it comes to trucks we all know our dream truck and how I actually use the truck the shake would be a perfect fit. Starting at $61,110. Chosen just the way I want it, it comes to $71,225.
