3 Reasons the 2022 Nissan Titan Might Have the Toyota Tundra Beat

In the full-size world, things are very competitive. It is unlikely that you will not meet a truck owner who does not have a strong opinion about his specific brand. The two non-domestic automakers in the truck sector are Toyota and Nissan. Nissan with the 2022 Titan, and Toyota with the 2022 Tundra. And while the Tundra may be the most popular pickup, it may outperform it in many ways.

The 2022 Nissan Titan is the only full-size truck with a standard V8 engine

More and more trucks are moving away from the traditional V8, and depending on your opinion, unfortunately, one of them. You can no longer have a new eight-cylinder Toyota Tundra. Each comes with a twin-turbo V6 engine that puts out 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.

Titan. Each model is equipped with a 5.6-liter V8 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. It’s worth noting that the Titan will get slightly worse fuel economy than the Tundra. But for some people, this trade-off is worth making.

Titan is old school, in a good way

If you want an old-fashioned full-size truck, they might be the best choice. While the Tundra has gotten more sophisticated with things like coil-over rear suspension, the Titan remains true to its truck status.

However, according to what has been said, the interior manages to remain subdued. And if you plan to do a lot of highway or city driving, this is probably a good thing. Being all-new for 2022, its cabin is definitely more modern. But that’s not something everyone wants from their minivan.

The 2022 Titan has a best-in-class warranty

There is no getting around it. Today’s trucks are very expensive. The 2022 Nissan Titan starts at around $40,000, which makes it more expensive than the titans of the past. To go along with that price, Nissan offers a comprehensive warranty, so you know the brand stands by its product.

Nissan’s warranty for the Titan pickup truck is as follows:

  • Limited Warranty: Five years/100.00 miles
  • Powertrain Warranty: Five years/100,000 miles

The 2022 Toyota Tundra may be the cheapest truck, but its warranty isn’t as good. And that may be enough to sway some consumers into choosing a full-size pickup.

What is the best full-size truck?

On paper, it’s not the best pickup truck. But the satisfaction of the owner is rather high. So for those for whom Titan is a good fit, it’s worth considering.
