Top Three Used Toyota Tundras of the Year Under $25,000

He recently combed through his massive database to sort through 70 of the best under $25,000. While the Toyota Tundra didn’t finish in the top spot, it did score seven points overall.

2013 Toyota Tundra

It was ranked #2 on US News’ “Full-Size Pickup Trucks of 2013” list. The average price for a used 2013 Tundra today is between $15,700 and $32,000, depending on options and condition of the vehicle.

Like the 2009 model, the 2013 Tundra offers three available engines; A 4.0-liter V6 with 270 horsepower, a 4.6-liter V8 with 310 horsepower, and a 381-horsepower 5.7-liter V8. The V6 powertrain includes a five-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, while the V8 powertrain comes with a six-speed automatic and includes the option of all-wheel drive.

The 2013 Toyota Tundra is a big truck that looks bigger in parking lots and on busy city streets thanks to its slower steering. In addition, the stiff suspension provides a tough ride, especially on rough roads.

The Crew Cab model features “limousine-like accommodations” for rear seat passengers with ample legroom and reclining rear seats. However, that’s the real highlight of the Tundra’s interior compared to the dashboard design that’s remained the same since 2007 and the slew of hard, cheap-looking plastic parts.

2011 Toyota Tundra

The 2011 model is the third Tundra on the list, tied with the 2010 Tundra for 42nd place overall. In addition, both Tundras placed sixth out of nine in the US News rankings for the year for their respective. Average prices for used 2011 Tundras are between $14,000 and $24,000, with average 2010 prices about $3,000 less.

The 2011 Tundra is similar to the 2009 and 2013, with similar cab configurations, engine lineups, and powertrain options. However, it’s worth noting that the Tundra delivers good safety ratings with an overall NHTSA four-star rating and “good” scores in the applicable IIHS crash tests. However, its competitors offer more upscale interiors and more comfortable rides.

Is a used Toyota Tundra a good truck?

Toyotas generally have outstanding resale value, so buying them comes with very little risk. If you find the Tundra’s ride, handling, and interior satisfactory in your price range, then this is a worthwhile investment. However, there are better options if you’re looking for a more refined pickup truck with more towing and payload capacity.
