Don’t let them stay in the shadow of the Kia Telluride. Even though three-row SUVs are closely related, the Plasiade deserves its time in the spotlight because tons of standard features help it shine.

expected. We took it on the same trails as the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and Ford Bronco Raptor, but we didn’t push it quite as hard. It won’t keep up with the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon or climb rocky inclines.

The XRT model adds confidence with bigger wheels and protective skid plates, but ground clearance maxes out at 7.9 inches. We would feel more confident with a little suspension lift. But it has plenty of power to master deep mud, snowy and slippery terrain.

You can use the AWD lockup feature with the available HTRAC AWD system to distribute power evenly between the front and rear wheels. This comes in handy when traversing mud and ruts or climbing steep inclines. The 360-degree camera display helps you easily avoid obstacles on narrow paths.

The Palisade withstood slips and slides in mud, sand, dirt, and gravel. But we’ve bypassed some of the larger impacts that other off-road oriented vehicles could overcome at higher speeds.

Harder impacts can shake the interior, but the bumps clear up quickly. Also, the engine starts to whine on the steepest climbs. But the Palisade should get you to your camp without any problems.

Yes, the 2023 Hyundai Palisade is supremely comfortable in every row. The front row has huge, well-added seats with tons of adjustment controls. Side gusset is supportive to hold you in place when cornering. Plus, the ergonomic design is energizing.

The second row seats are equally comfortable, with plenty of room to slide back and forth. But they could recline a little more. Also, the third row is a bit smaller, but still well padded and can recline.

The automatic climate control system intelligently responds to surrounding temperatures and effectively heats and cools the entire cabin. The heated seats and steering wheel are pretty badass, but the ventilated seats could be tougher.

Plus, the Palisade offers a smooth ride on pavement. We don’t see it at all as an SUV that makes kids carsick. But at highway speeds, wind noise is more noticeable than expected. Otherwise, the cabin is pretty quiet.

Yes, the interior is attractive and luxurious. It’s one of the areas where the Plasiade really shines against rivals like the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander. It is made with soft and durable materials such as high quality quilted leather upholstery and aluminum trim.

There are no plastics to be found around the soft touch coated materials and leather covered surfaces. The materials provide an upscale feel that appears resistant to scratches and stains.

We were concerned about the lack of all-weather rubber floor mats, but the carpeted floor is mud resistant and easy to clean. Ambient lighting and accent stitching break up large sections of upholstery to draw attention.

The panoramic sunroof is massive, allowing people in every row to see the sky. It has the perfect amount of tint to block out the sun’s rays. Plus, rear sun visors make it easy to see the screens on portable gaming devices.

The layout is sleek and straightforward, with clearly labeled controls. Everything you need is close at hand. Forward visibility is plentiful, but the rear window is a bit small. The parking sensors and 360-degree display are useful.

The controls are intuitive and it’s easy to adjust the settings. However, some people may prefer more physical checkups. The digital key system for iPhone and Android phone systems allows you to access various controls from your smartphone.

You can lock, unlock and start Plasiade with a smart speaker and Bluetooth connectivity. Plus, up to two devices can be connected at the same time, and up to seven USB ports are available, allowing everyone to keep their devices charged.

The optional head-up display provides driving information without distraction, and the built-in navigation system is quick. The wireless phone charging pad is awkwardly located under the center console, but Atlas Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard.

There are tons of unique features to enjoy. Nature sounds connect you to the wilderness with the sunroof open, the intercom system projects your voice through the rear speakers and silent mode limits the speaker volume to 25.

Plus, the Remote Parking System lets you reverse into or out of parking spaces remotely. It is very convenient in crowded parking lots.
